Commissioned by the Savannah Wind Symphony, Mark B. Johnson, conductor.
This is a programmatic work telling a tale which starts in the dark times of prohibition and ends in a flurry of back-roads-running, cop-evading, bootlegging moonshiners. Exciting and picturesque, the score is brought to life with dramatic musical descriptions as well as unique instrumentations. In addition to two different washboards being used, the timpani is also struck with unusual sticks creating an eerie, southern and hillbilly texture.
