The Wheaton Municipal Band is based in the City of Wheaton, Illinois. Since 1930, the band has been a haven for local musicians to come together, make music, and give back to their community through performance. The band’s Thursday night concert series is one of the most treasured and anticipated events of the summer. This annual series is presented in Wheaton’s beautiful downtown Memorial Park and attracts thousands of individuals, couples, and families. The band’s talent for bringing people of all ages together is the inspiration for this music which was written for and premiered by the group at The Midwest Clinic in December 2023.
The music is organized around four images from the park: a leisurely stroll, relaxing on the lawn, a rousing concert, and time together. These are snapshots of a carefree, joyful and enriching evening Together in the Park. J.T.S.
